We are a group of parents, families, and community members who value the separation of church and state, respect diverse beliefs and value public education.
We want children to learn free from religious influence and appreciate your interest in understanding the religious encroachments attacking our nation’s public schools.
Secular education is a system of learning free from religious influence, focusing on subjects like science, math, literature, history, and the arts. It emphasizes rational thought, evidence, and critical thinking, maintaining neutrality toward religion—common in public schools that uphold the separation of church and state.
We uphold the separation of church and state, ensuring public education remains free from religious influence.
We embrace diversity, fostering an environment where all students, regardless of background, feel welcome and respected.
We advocate for evidence-based education, ensuring critical thinking and intellectual growth without religious interference.
We are committed to providing equal access to education for all students, regardless of their faith, beliefs, or background.
We prioritize transparency, honesty, and ethical practices in all of our partnerships, members and efforts to protect and improve public education.
We build partnerships that facilitate communities creating positive change in public education.
We develop creative solutions and adapt our approaches to meet evolving challenges in public education.
We are committed to uphold the separation of church and state in public education by providing oversight, information and advocacy to engage our communities. Our goal is to ensure that all children have access to an equitable education, grounded in evidence-based principles, academic integrity and respect for diversity in a secular learning environment.
The Secular Education Association, originally founded in 2023 as Parents Against Lifewise, was created by concerned parents to raise awareness about Lifewise Academy’s influence in public schools. The group is dedicated to protecting the separation of church and state and preserving the integrity of public education. They oppose Lifewise’s religious conversion mission and its qualification as an RTRI program, viewing it as discriminatory and harmful to inclusivity. The association advocates for children’s right to learn free from religious pressure, ensuring all students receive equal educational opportunities without coercion or exclusion.
Local parents that are passionate about public education policy and are striving to grow the secular education movement!
